Mere Lafan

Marlow

Caption

The name is recorded in 1015 as Mere lafan,
meaning "Land left after the draining of a pond"
in Old English.

Our home, Marlow is a gorgeous old English town, on the banks of the Thames. It’s at least 1,000 years old and appears in the Domesday Book, where it was called Mere Lafan. If you’re coming to The Hand and Flowers, it’s well worth allowing some extra time for a stroll along the river, or a look around the shops. While you’re here, why not visit the following places?
